Plateau Gradec: Zagreb’s Panoramic Gem

Welcome to the Landmarks You Need To Know: Place where I write about Zagreb’s landmarks in under ten sentences! This article is a short stop for everyone who wants to learn only basics. I publish a new landmark weekly, so do not miss the opportunity to learn more every Friday! If you want to learn more about these landmarks, check out my other articles!

Plateau Gradec is one of the most popular viewpoints in the city, next to the more popular Strossmayer Promenade. Plateau Gradec is located in the southeast part of the Upper Town (Croatian Gornji grad), just above the Strossmayer promenade and next to the Gallery Klović Palace (Croatian Galerija Klovićevi dvori). From the Plateau Gradec, you have a beautiful view of Kaptol, especially of the Zagreb Cathedral. You can take amazing photos of the cathedral in the late afternoon while the last rays of the sunshine are on the towers. Also, an early morning (while the sun is still below the horizon) is a good time for great photos of the cathedral from the Plateau Gradec.
